A self-service system with minimal hardware
Unlike traditional workwear dispensing systems, the Walk’n Closet is a self-service system with minimal hardware, perhaps best compared to a retail store concept. Once an employee gains access to the space, they can select the desired items themselves. Upon exiting, the system automatically records which items are taken for use.
The software is scalable for various scenarios, ranging from a fully controlled system without active personnel involvement to workwear distribution via a staffed counter where an employee handles the distribution, and everything in between.
UHF RFID
The system is not limited to distributing workwear; it can also manage items like medical supplies, PPE, or tools. The core element of the Walk’n Closet is the UHF RFID tag, attached to each unique item. All information linked to the tagged item is automatically read by the antennas within the Walk’n Closet. This enables real-time inventory status, as well as active tracking and tracing of items. UHF RFID technology allows for the detection of many items over longer distances.
